thanks for the quick response muse....

I am really rather nervous about it...I have my consult on thursday with them.. i guess i will see how i feel after that.

How many places did you condiser before settling on Quality? was it just the cost that made you go for it there?

I considered going to a hospital, but I think the cost was substantially more (almost double). After my initial consultation with Quality, I was pretty confident that they'd do a good job. They seemed to have a lot of experience, having operated on thousands of people, I think. Also, I thought that it was very unlikely that anything would go wrong given that this surgery has been done for a fair while (over 10/15 years?) now.. how did you go with your consultation?

Any update by anyone who went to Quality Health Care Asia for LASIK surgery? I'm thinking of going in for a consult and was interested in hearing how things went for you.

I went at the end of May, as mentioned in my earlier post. Originally, the thought of someone messing with my eyes had me nervous. But it was a very smooth process. Very professional. Yesterday I was there for a checkup. I'm 20/20 now, which is a shock after a lifetime of glasses/contacts and consistently being known as the guy with the worst vision around. No problems. One symptom that is typical of LASIK surgery is eye dryness for some time after the procedure. That is nearly gone for me now, though I do use drops in the morning when I wake up.

Thanks for the responses. I've decided to book in and get this done. I keep going back and forward between thinking "I know this is going to be great and I'll wish I'd done it sooner" and quaking in fear... Anyway, I'll bite the bullet and go in for a consult. My wife is also saying she wants to do it. Hopefully we'll soon be a glasses free house.
