| shipping firms revisited I'm moving from the East Coast of USA to HK and would like to ask if anyone has any recommendations of firms they've used whom they had a good experience with? I'm looking for a company who'll pack everything, ship, store for a few months and then unpack everything when I've found a place to live. I was once told it's best to use firms who use their own staff and storage facilities throughout the entire processes, rather than companies who outsource part of this, e.g. have a local partner who is in charge of the storage, maybe another one move and unpack at the destination end. Has anyone found advantages or disadvantages to using a single all-in firm? Any companies to definitely avoid (I was thinking of using Allied Pickfords until I saw the comment on them)? I'd like to avoid everything coming out broken, damaged, or mouldy, and get good packing/unpacking service. Any useful suggestions on what to look for and ask for when I get quotes and in managing the process? Thanks very much! |
