| www.jobsdb.com classified post - buy south china morning post I've seen quite a few fashion jobs, I'm a graphic designer though. What about trade mags, trade associations? why not do a google search? yp.com.hk There are lots of other job hunting websites e.g. monster - just look at other people's threads I'm from the UK and have approached things as I would there. I know what international companies are there so I just checked if they have an office here too. Get yourself a list of companies and start cold calling for email addresses. I've had quite a few interviews within a couple of weeks of emailing. Just keep firing out that CV. I've also had very useful advice from companies who don't have jobs available. Good Luck. | In my experience, I believe that the best and easiest way to get the job within the fashion field is prepare ur little black book (ur portfolio, trend forecast). Copy some of ur best works and send with ur cv letter Most of the fashion companies in HK manage by local ppls or non-fashion oriented ppls, they wont care ur CV letter so much ( they dont know most of the "international" fashion company name, also if u describe ur job duties, they wont understand most of them.... so pictures worth a thousand words. Also, in my experience, u dont need to care the company has an opening or not, u just send letter to whatever companies u like, u never know what gonna happen! I know that most of the international brand companies has office in HK, not neccessary is the buyin department, but sure have marketin and sales department (most of them in charge of the China market as well), so it is not that difficult to get the job in the fashion industry, if u r aggressive enough! |

| ...Like navi has said....just call companies up and get the decision maker's name so that you can email or post work to him/her. It worked for me - I got to see over 20 design companies that way. The design world always wants to see new talent, even when they don't have immediate work available. |
