I am coming to HK between June - Mid Aug/ Early Sep, not sure when yet, and will be staying there for 2 weeks / one month.

Please e-mail vivavegan @gmx.de if you have hints on where to stay with a budget of 100 to 150 HKD per nite, for any of the islands/ districts/whatever they are called.

Been to HK once, :)!

I am not sure whether one of my friends will be coming with me.

I agree, for that price you might be able to stay in Chung King Mansion (i think its like $150hkd/night) but although I have never stayed there I know people who have and trust me you do not want to stay there. Worth it to pay around $200-250 per night at a reputable hostel.

I stayed in chung king mansions in 93 for the first couple of months before we sorted a flat out....

Fires.

Murders, one of many happened on the very first week of staying there.

constant hassle from the guys selling stuff,giving out restaurant cards etc

small lifts that you had to wait ages for

cockroaches

Shared bathroom with many other people

No aircons


Had an absolute blast to tell you the truth... It was nuts, on a daily basis ahh and throw in the odd 3 day powercut as well and it was even madder...

book a room for a night youll have a whale of a time trust me
