Quality Tailors in HK ?

Does anyone have first hand experience of quality/stylish tailors in HK.

Shirts and Suits.

I am NOT after the type of suit that my grandad used to wear, and am prepared to pay for quality.

and please NO recommendations for SAM the tailor or similar PR hyped places, unless you actually have stuff made from there on a regular basis.

btw, I am NOT going to Bangkok, as my mate SHRI no doubt will tell me to head there for tailoring

Hey.
I tried several tailors in HK, finally found the best one in IFC on the top flor (named Tai Pan Row). A good suit (160* Zegna) around 8000 HKD, which is peanuts comparing to europe prices.

Shak, Bangkok mate ...

Got some great sports jackets made from top notch eye-talian fabric two weeks ago for about 30-40% less than any HK tailor in the middle range would cost.

They'll come to your hotel for the fittings etc etc ...

I second the recommendation for TaiPan Row - they have two shops - one on P3 of IFC (the old part) and one in The Galleria by the bottom of Ice House Street.

They will do whatever style you want. I have had four suits and about 10 shirts from them and been very happy, but you might think my taste to be conservative I guess. I tend to pay HK$4-5000 for suits to wear on a daily basis, but the range is $2500 - $10000+ depending on the fabric.

I have used Jim's tailors in Admiralty Centre Tower 1 for shirts. For men's shirts, they charge about HK$250 + depending on fabric. They charged me HK$350 + for ladies shirts. The cheek!
My b/friend has used Favourite Fashions in TST. I can find the address if you are interested - great quality, good price - no problems. He goes there for trousers as well but he hasnt had a suit made yet.

Have had some stuff made at Rocky's. Quality has not been consistent.

A friend of mine goes to Causeway Bay, local place but great work, cause I always compliment everytime he has new suits and shirt. Just tell them what you want (though they only speak chinese) or they can copy anything you throw at them for a reasonable price. Around 2k for suits and 2 hundred for shirts, depending on the material you pick of course. Let me know if interested, I'll ask my friend for the address.

would they be able to make a Chanel jacket? (requires some special techniques like stitching of lining to the outer fabric and three piece sleeves pattern). i would provide fabrics...
