Visit from US to HK

Hi, a friend (who is presently in the US on a student Visa) wants to visit me in Hong Kong for a weekend. I need the following info:

a) Can he visit HK and get Visa on arrival ?
b) Any idea on a reasonable air fare from Los Angeles to HK & Back?
c) How is China Airlines to fly with ?

Kinda urgent. Thanks in advance for the help.

a) US passport holders don't need a "visa" to visit. they get a stamp in their passport which allows them to stay up to 90 days. if they want to go to mainland china, they need a visa which is a sticker that goes into their passport.
b) try cathay pacific, korean air or check out zuji.com
c) don't fly china airlines - terrible - but air china is ok.
