Hi friends-
I recently arrived here to work for a US company, and my wife is along on a dependant visa. Unfortunately, as a dependant, she can't legally work. This is too bad, as she is a very skilled technical worker and had a good position back in the US.

What are some legal (and non-legal, just curious ;-) options for her?

Legal option:- Find an employer willing to sponsor work visa. Would be difficult but not impossible if she is really a very skilled Tech.
Non-Legal:- 1). Start own's business 2). Work as Freelancer/ Consultant

Depending on her skillsets, there are a ton of freelance opportuntities available -- globally.

We outsource most of our content development, site development to folks in Russia, US, Sweden etc. ...

Freelance rates are usually not comparable to full time salaries .. but do offer a lot of flexibility and most importantly choice.

Should have added... if she finds a job with a company willing to sponsor her visa, the process is fairly trivial.
