I am an Indian national but studying in USA. Recently I got an internship offer from a bank for summers which could lead to full time job. I am quick questions regarding this
1. Which visa I need to apply for internship?
2. I heard if I apply for trainee visa it cannot be extended to employement visa?

I will really appreciate if somebody could guide me on this matter.

Doesnt the bank have an HR department which can assist with this?

Mr. Gatts , is it true that once you are on trainee visa you cannot convert it into employlement visa?? If it is true what one must do??

The company must hire you. It be done as I have done it. The companyI was interning at for 8 months hired me and was able to go through the normal employmemt visa process and I was issued an employment visa.
