sorry to say I missed it but I had a good excuse - currently 'studying' in the UK. Had I been there you probably would have found me there. Its certainly a big achievement over the standard 'don't rock the boat and make waves' mentality and indeed 'lets all shut up and make money'

Isnt HongKong making a fundamental mistake, assuming that a "democratic" governmment equals economic wellbeing? If that was the case, India should have been propserous by now? and, talking of "responsiveness", what odds on Martin Lee / Emily Lau / Anson Chang being the next CEO appointed by Beijing? anybody quoting odds?

| Any musicians around? So it sounds like you're a musician... I've recently re-located to HK and would like to get to know about the music scene and hopefully even join a band. Blues or jazz is my forte and I play alto and baritone sax (although I only have the alto here until my other possessions arrive). Hope you can help point me in the right direction. Thanks... Quote:

The man you need to talk to about how and where to get jazz gigs is Allen Youngblood. jazbalaya@hotmail.com should get to him. If it doesn't let me know and I'll PM you some other contacts.

So is there a GEOEXPAT contingent for this afternoon? I for one will be out in force carrying an 8x10 of our DEAR ADMINISTRATOR with a bevy of scantily clad [subject to weather] admirers signing HIS praises, to show our Chief Executive just what can be achived under a benign dictatorship.

I dont get it. Even if HK went democratic (not that it really makes a difference) surely when China fully takes back control they will just undo it - assuming China doesnt go democratic... lol
