feeding chicken wings

how do you go about feeding raw chicken wings to dogs? I have tried feeding the mid joints to our 14kg dog. She just licks it and walks away after a few minutes. What am I doing wrong?

You're not cooking it first?

Our neighbours dog which is a staffy terrier mix devoured cooked chicken wings. They were her absolute favourite but of course we only gave her a few pieces a week.

Ohh - can of worms.

Enjoy the fall out.

For what it's worth, if they don't want them, you're not going to get them to eat them.

Look at alternatives - you using them for the teeth or you an adovcate of the BARF diet.

Honestly, if your dog doesn't like it then you should not insist it...and on top of that dogs can choke on bones...your dog may simply not like it (might be spicy, or simply doesn't taste good)

Give your dog a doggie biscuit and it will be happier

Shanghai38 is on a distinguished road
Don't force them on your dog. Try giving her small bits of raw chicken (warm, not cold) in her food so she can get used to the taste, then give them as treats, then work your way to bits with the bone, etc.

She may end up liking it, but it's possible that she won't. I had a dog who loved them and another who loathed them (more for dog #1!).

lulumay is an unknown quantity at this point.
we feed them 80-90% dry kibble and 10-20% other things. They love cooked and raw boneless chicken. they like raw skin too.

i was always told not to give chicken wings to my dogs as the bones do splinter very easily and are very sharp like an arrow which could puncture their stomach or get stuck somewhere. Dont know if this true or not but dont want to experience my dogs dying slowly due to internal bleeding. I rather just get the meat off and then give it to them.

Our dogs eat raw bones just fine. It's the cooked ones that can splinter and cause damage.
