I'd like to know as well. I like to do a review of food writing for my blog once a year and it's that time again. Last couple of time I've looked for good HK food writing and not found much.

Well they'll be working for the likes of SCMP, HK Tatler, Timeout magazine etc etc.

Jimbo - and none of them would be considered professional. Don't think any restaurant owner or chef is worried about any of that lot showing up.

About the only reviews that I find mildly honest are HK Magazine.

I've done some work along those lines, but that's about all I'm allowed to say I'm afraid.

SCMP is not very consistent, Tatler is dull and I flat out don't believe Time Out's restaurant reviews. I agree that HK magazine is probably the best and the only one I haven't regretted following up on a recommendation.

It would be great to have reviews with the wit and bite of, say New York magazine. But, more than that, some good writing about food and food culture like Jeffrey Steingarten or Vir Sanghavi would be fantastic.
