Its not just in USA, but in India too, many a Allopathy practitioners have rubbished the ancient knowledge, simply because it'd take away their business. Besides as written in the article that there are two types of treatment, one that's just herbs and other with metals. So, if one doesn't think that doctor is capable of managing the metals, all one has to do is go for just herbs. Last edited by gunsnroses; 22-09-2008 at 03:39 PM. |

First of all, they bought samples over the internet.... I don't know about you, but even regular users of ayurvedic medication do NOT buy medicines over the internet. If such a medium of sale is discouraged for conventional medicine, do you think Ayurvedic medicine (which is regulated in India) would be subject to exemption? I think not.... Second,...60 percent of the medicines were bought from US companies. Again why diss a tried, tested medicinal system used by millions when most of the allegedly errant medication were produced in US factories, where compliance with safety regulations are ensured? Third,...Ayurveda is a 5000 year old system of medicine and treatment (on par with, if not better, than Traditional Chinese Medicine). Personally speaking, if given the choice of being treated with a 5000-year-old system of medicine or modern medicine, I'd pick Ayurveda anyday. You do the math...it's a no-brainer.. | Hmmm - something based on the state our our knowledge of the body 5000 years ago or something based on the new advances in medicine that are leaping ahead every year????? That is indeed a no-brainer! Off topic - has anyone tried the traditional chinese medicine here in HK? Any views on if it works at all? I'd tend to have thought that maybe for lesser complaints like headaches etc was probably fine given that most analgesics originated from plants anyway but that I would worry if I had something serious like appendicitis or cancer - what to people think? |
