Bodybuilder possibly moving to HK...gym hunting.

Hi Everyone,

Maybe moving to HK soon. Will be looking for a gym. I compete in bodybuilding contests and need a place with an as extensive as possible range of free weights and plate loaded-machines. Any gyms spring to mind? More of a serious training atmosphere rather than a leisure gym, if you get my drift.

Many thanks in advance

M

The main gyms, Seasons, Pure, Fitness First, California Fitness are all pretty well stocked, I train at Seasons, which has a good range of free weights and hammer strength machines...however it, like most places, are what you may classify as a leisure gym compared to what you are probably used to. Otherwise there is impact in central, which considers itself a 'fighters gym' with MMA classes etc, I've not been there myself, but from what I understand there is more of a serious training attitude than the larger gyms where people mainly train alone.

Thanks. I think I'll have to do a tour of a few gyms next month during a flying visit to HK, and see which one I'll be most suited to.

I go to seasons too... but it's more of a corporate/executive type of gym. There are some hardcore bodybuilding gyms, the locals call them "Iron Gyms"... there is one in Jordan on Nathan Rd. I think it's called Power Gym or something... I'll check next time I'm in the area.
