Get a copy of the South China Morning Post. At the Classified section there are lots of prices advertised. Ring up the agents which quote cheap prices. e.g. I was quoted a return 4-day ticket to Shanghai for $830. Normally it costs $2,150 for a 15-day ticket (e.g. at
www.aerohkg.com), $2,800 for a longer period.
Conditions apply however for cheaper tickets - only certain days, certain airlines, no refund, no air miles, no change of date and non-transferable.
But if you just want a standard open ticket, then prices at
www.aerohkg.com or
www.lastminute.com.hk are competitive enough.
