My spaniel mix dog isn't feeling very well, so I went to the vet. She said that to see what is wrong, I need to get a blood and urine test for him.

The cost of this test was $1800, which seems rather high to me. Is this the usual cost? I live in Taipo, so it might be higher than what is offered in Kowloon/Hong Kong Island.

That seems a little high, but it depends on what blood tests and what urine tests. for a general blood screen up to $1000 is sort of ok, and urine test up to $200 is ok, beyond that, unless the vet is interested in thyroid hormone or cortisol levels or other more specific tests, I think it may be a little bit high.

does this $1800 include the consult and and some medications, or just the blood and urine tests?

He seems low on energy, when I bring him out he usually runs down the stairs in a rush to go out, but now he just walks slowly down the stairs.

my schanuzer was like that, lots of energy, then he started to be weak and not eat much, didnt run around that much, after taking him to the spca and blood tests later, he was found to have some sort of tick fever, he nearly died. after spending a week in spca having blood transfusion and test he pulled through. When i went to pick him up and to pay the bill, i nearly died. LOL my dog cost me nearly 10K.
