Hi! I will move to Hong Kong in a month, but haven't found an apartment yet. I did some research on the web, such as HongKongHomes, Gohome, etc., but didn't get much idea. Would you please suggest some apartment properties (or other real estate websites)? My requirements: 1. budget HKD 30,000~40,000/month 2. apartment age: under 15 years. 3. apartment size: larger than 800sqf. 4. location: within 3 subway stop from Central.(Sheung wan,Wan chai, Causeway bay, or Kowloon station) Any suggestion is very appreciated.

That's plenty of money I would think - so there are a huge number of options. You are much better off having a look in person when you get here. Sign up a serviced appt for a month before you arrive and then look around - given you will be locking in once you sign up, you need to like it!

i agree. you really need to get a good overview of what's available when you are here. ps> why must it be within 3 stops on the MTR? the HK MTR system is fantastic, clean, safe, fast... an extra stop or two would only make a 5 minute difference in commute time... pps> you also need to let us know if you want facilities, how many bedrooms etc...

$40K a month? You can live pretty much wherever you want. Just pick one that you like and go for it!

I will stay in a serviced apartment for few weeks. Since furniture and other household goods will arrive in few weeks, I have to find an apartment soon. Could anyone suggest some good properties? I want to get a list of potential properties and start my apartment search as soon as I arrive. Thanks a lot! |

how you find a flat in hk.... 1) arrive here 2) walk down the street in the areas that you are interested in 3) go into any one of the thousands of real estate agents in hk 4) tell them your requirements (you will need to come up with # of bedrooms and whether or not you want facilities), if you only go in saying what you can pay, you are asking to be taken advantage of! 5) view the properties available 6) move onto the next area and do the same using the internet to try to find an apartment in hk is NOT a wise idea. it doesn't take long to find/negotiate/move in... if you have a few weeks, that should be more than enough time, so long as the flat is currently vacant. (you can make that one of your requirements). do not tell the agent that you are in a hurry...that too, is asking for trouble. good luck! look at it as an adventure rather than as something that will give you a problem...
