| | | Hong Kong for sure. No sales tax and if you're going to live in HK ... might as well get stuff that is going to be under warrenty here. | |

| | | I'm also from Singapore.
Get everything in Hong Kong.
It's usually either cheaper or same priced over here. Even if rarely it's slightly more expensive by a few percent, do realise that you save on shipping costs.

| | | Or you can just get a fully furnished apartment. My co-worker just negotiated a two bedroom apartment fully furnished for HKD 14000 a month. I would suggest you negotiate with the owner and avoid having to purchase a fridge or a washer. I didn't negotiate a fully furnished apartment but still my apartment came with a large fridge and a small washer and dryer. | |

| | | Does your place not have a fridge or washer/dryer? I think Broadway and some Fortress Worlds sell both, but most apartments you rent will probably come with one.
I personally hate my washer/dryer combo as I think it sucks. Too small and takes hours to dry. I'm kind of spoiled by a Duet system back home that I miss, but I think part of it might be trying to dry clothes in this humidity.

| | | Penguinsix,
I will be moving to Shenzhen from the US in June. I'll will be in the market for a washer and dryer. Are there US sized appliances available to buy? Are they close to the same price as in the US?
Thanks,

If not and it's clogged up then the drying efficiency is minimal. My washer/dryer will dry clothes to "ironing dry" in about 40 mins and a load of towels in about 90 mins, which seems OK to me. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8.
