anyone know when the final payemnt of tax for year 2007 - 2008 is due. I filled in the tax form what seems like years ago but not recieved anything back ...

You'll get a bill in the next few months from the IRD stating the payment dates, which will be in 2009.

My usual first date is in January and the second in April.

I just got mine. As Claire stated 75% are due in January, 25% are due in April - on my birthday to add insult to injury.

yeah but i had that last year and the amiunt i paid was based on an estimate of my earnings. but the estimate was rather low as it was only based on half years earnings. So I owe them a alot more. surely they going to want payment for full April 2007 - April 2008 before Jan 09. ??

i filled the form based on actual earning sometime back in april or may but as yet no news

Sure you have underpaid? This time they are deducting 75% (up to 20K) of your tax as a bonus from last years budget surplus. I have already received my cheque

clip, the IRD mails the bills in batches. It doesn't select those belonging to people who may have underpaid previously and then send them out early. So don't worry, the IRD hasn't forgotten about you; it will be in touch soon... guaranteed.

BTW, if you complete your return online, you get an immediately estimate (an accurate one IMO) of what will be due on your bill.
