| PCCW International Data Roaming = Highway Robbery Please bear with me while I RANT! So I just got my phone bill for my one week trip to Thailand, yes the Thailand just over there, 3 hours flight away… Get this HK$7656… the culprit GPRS DATA ROAMING CHARGES… How much data you ask only 5.4MB… PCCW charge hk$.14 per KILOBYTE so 5.4MB charge is over $7000. Guess how much I paid for my airticket? Try HK$2000. So for the price of transfering 5.4MB which really are just little blips of electricity, I could fly to Thailand and back 3 times. Can you believe almost US$1000 to transfer 5.4megabytes of data, $&%*( Highway robbery.) I have a good mind to not pay it, but then I would lose the phone number that i have had for 11 years and in the end I would have to pay as PCCW is everywhere and they are MONEY GRABBING... ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!! ------------------------------ Yes I know, i am an idiot for not checking the rate, but $7000+ for 5.4mb that is just robbery really... |

| Roaming data is expensive You are lucky... Holidaymaker gets ÂŁ31k data roaming bill | The Register I suggest you complain - you won't get it all back, but maybe enough to pay fo another flight to Thailand. Last edited by zerocred; 24-08-2008 at 02:24 PM. |
