He Kexin - Age Scandal and search engine hackers...

Great post by someone who calls him self Stryde.Hax.

Stryde Hax: Hack the Olympics!

Quote:
In the Baidu cache, which apparently has not been hit with the scrub brush (yet), two spreadsheets published by the Chinese government on sport.gov.cn both list He Kexin's birthday as 01-01-1994, making her 14 years old. For as long as these links work, you can access the documents directly, either using the directions and screenshots above, or these links:

So why hasn't she been disqualified then? Since it's pretty clear whoever did her passport was a forger!

Because...what's written on the blog of somebody is not necessarly the truth too...

However, I agree that the IOC should launch an investigation to check those facts and if it turns out that she is indeed 14, some actions should be taken (not necessarly towards her only but also towards the Chinese Sporting body)

But she should NOT be disqualified cos a dude posted on his blog what he "found" while surfing the net....

I agree with Mat. Just posted this, as it the result of some creative poking around in the search engines.

If this guy can find the cache infor to look at it, someone else (with a vested interest in seeing someone other than a Chinese win....hmmm who could that be....) could probably hack in and change dates as well...like Mat said....just because it's 'on the net', doesn't mean it's true...conspiracy theories can go both ways

people can investigate all the old documents they want...as long as the girl has the govt. records (valid or otherwise) that state her age as 16, not much of a chance of any reversal happening

A German runner said that Usain Bolt did not know how to fill the doping agency's whereabout forms in Beijing. Which should give you an idea how many "surprise" visits he gets in Jamaica. That and his 9.69-hey-where-are-all-the-others sprint speaks for the less-catching theory.

About the gymnastics girl.... well, how do you proof that she is 14? IOC says we wanna investigate, Bocog says no problem, we get you 20 more passports that state she is 16. In dubio pro reo, and the Chinese government has all the means to keep dubio very very high

I also think it is a pity (not at last for the girl - do you wanna go through all this pressure when your 14??) but I think your question "why hasn't she been disqualidfied" is a bit naive. Just because you wouldn't fake passports in the EU or US for sport's reasons doesn't mean they won't do it here. The rationale is pretty much like "the state decides how old you are"...
