Thank you all for the advises and replies! Seems like the HK real estate market is very fast and quick. That might make it more difficult to negotiate down the price given more demand than supply. Hm... Let's see how it goes when I look for apartments in the next 2 weeks. Does anyone live in DB here?

DB is a great place to live. There's a good variety of places of differing ages, so you can often negotiate on price (e.g., this similar flat is newer, can you come down a bit?)

We used Century 21, who were very responsive and quickly figured out what we had in mind.
