Smile Working holiay visa vs dependent visa

Hi,

I have been sifiting through past posts but can't seem to find exactly what I am after…

My husband has been offered a position in HK, but I have just discovered the bad news about dependent visas and ability to work. I am 25 and not a mother and don't really fancy the idea of being at home. I have noticed that there is a working holiday scheme for Australians ad I wondered if I am able to apply for this if my husband is coming on a work visa.

Also is it possible to change from the holiday visa to a work visa if say a company you work for likes you and decides to sponsor you?

Thanks so much for your help

It is fairly easy to convert from a dependant visa to a work visa. The working holiday scheme has a fair number of restrictions.

I, too, face the same problem. I am on a dependant visa right now and everytime I apply for a job, the question of my work status in Hong Kong arises. How can I convert my dependant visa to a work visa? Any sugegstions or ideas would be of great help!

Thanks.
