I have a general part to this question and a more specific part.

In General
In your opinion, during what period are job openings most plentiful (New Year/CNY, Summer, Fall, Doesn't matter)?

Specifically to me
I have 6 years of work experience, most recently in marketing management in a Fortune 500 company (w/o offices in HK, so no internal transfer possible), looking for jobs in a similar role, cantonese/mandarin speaking, but elementary read/write. I am debating between moving to HK in Oct to look for a job or waiting until next Jan to get closer to the chinese new year timeframe. I realize there may be some benefit to looking for jobs before/after the CNY time period, but in your opinion, are jobs in the areas I'm interested THAT much more plentiful during that time?

best time to look for work is around CNY, by that time everyone that gets double pay and bonus would have got it and if they were intending to leave that company that is the best time they will do it.
