Question Yet more questions...

You've been great so far. Please can I try your patience a little bit more?
5 days til we move in!!

1. Alarms. Any company recommendations for putting in a house alarm please?

2. Mobile phone. Which service do you use?
I think there is next to no coverage in the Country Park.

3. Dinner. When we are settled there is open invite to a Murder Mystery dinner to say thank you. Please pm me if you are interested.

Hugs,
Pix

my hubby and i both use "3" however, he gets more reception than i do... i get virtually nothing until i'm out the park gate.

i think it has more to do with the fact that he has a much fancier mobile than i have.

as for alarms... i saw a shop in sai kung that does security... can't remember the name though, sorry.

Hi Pixel,
My husband and I use 3 too. Mostly no reception until almost the park gate. I've not heard of anyone who can get full reception in the park....it's just one of those things that we live with. I TRY to remember to have a forward to the house but then I forget to unforward when I get into the office!

For security - can't give you personal experience. We decided to chance it. We have two dogs and (so far) no one in our village has been "hit" if they had dogs visible (although our police columnist a few years ago told me not to rely on that - that a little bit of poisoned meat does the trick quickly). We also cannot open any windows on the ground floor (and seldom used rooms above) because my husband permanently closed them from the inside after he saw how IIs got into a neighbours house. It's a pain in those few months when having windows open is nice but - burglars would have a very hard time prying these open.

Those are our rather primitive solutions (and our police columnist would be horrified) but....we do have an advertiser that is certainly reputable, if not a personal suggestion: G4S 2173 3333

Love the idea of a murder mystery - last time I saw one of those was at least 25 years ago in a wonderful old house in Calgary, Alberta. I'm in (depending on date).

Cheers!

Two more votess for "3". And if you have to call the US, China and/or a few other countries (Ireland is one) the minutes are just deducted off your regular plan.

actually, my aunt gets full reception at her house in tai tan...but that's because of the telephone receiver on the house next door!

however, while on the "road" she gets nothing, just like the rest of us... as a matter of fact i often see my neighbours out on their balconies yacking away, because that's the only place they get receptioin....
