OGC Golf City

Hi to all the golfers out there in HK...

I will move to HK in September, clubs in tow. I came across some info about a driving range located at the old airport complex in HK, namely "OGC Golf City". As I consider where to live, etc., I am interested in the possibility of being near to this complex, for it sounds like a promising place to practice. Does anyone know where it is?? Is it Hong Kong island? What neighbourhood? I would really appreciate any info on this... Thanks!!!

It's not really in a convenient place at all and I don't think you'd want to live nearby. It's a little odd to choose a place to live based on a driving range but if you must then there's one in Causeway Bay at the South China athletic association. Living nearby wouldn't be difficult and very convenient. There's another one in Sai Wan Ho which also has
convenient residential developments nearby. The other one I now near Central is in Jordan and called City Golf. There are also housing complex with golf facilities like practice bays and golf simulators and private clubs like the Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley have those too.

Thanks, gille... I might indeed be odd.. verdict is still out on that. However, I appreciate your information. I still have a lot to learn on the HK areas... which ones are suitable for living, which are not. Every tip is welcome(as long as I do not try to think of all of them during the takeaway.. hehe). Thanks again.

Yes figuring out where you want to live may be your biggest challenge when first arriving in HK. Your budget and whether you prefer to be in the thick of it, close to work, quiet area with no traffic, restaurants, supermarket, leisure activities etc...

Sai Kung is a nice place to live and it's right next to the ferry to the local public golf course which also has a nice driving range. The downside is the commute to town if you work in Central.
