Moving from US, Getting Visa Thru Work, Can wife work? I am moving to HK in October to work at a large global bank in HK. Just filled out my paperwork for Visa and it included sections for the visa for my wife. My wife doesn't have a job lined up yet but is planning on working part time. Will this visa allow her to work in HK? The form my relo company completed for us was a ID990A. Side note, my wife is a veterinarian (small animal and equine). Anyone know about open opportunities? Thanks!

Yes - your wife will get a Dependant Visa which allows her to work (or study) without any further bureaucracy.

We're in the same situation (except wife planning to work full-time)- we checked and double checked- The dependent visa for your wife allows her to work without any restrictions. (and that seems to be backed up by the rest of the posters on the site)

hi: in fact your wife visa has less restrictions compare to your empolyment pass. your empolyment follows by the company, you need to change another employment when you shift job etc... your wife can work and can change job... ever better, she can open business/company in hk as well. my wife is on dependent visa.
