Hi all,

This is my first post in this forum, I've been reading it for a while, it's full of useful information.

I will be moving to HK sometime nearer to the end of this year, to open a "satellite" or Sales/Support office for our company.

I'll be the only staff member out there for at least the first 6 months to a year, basically running the office and the operation out there.

I am fairly junior, so it won't be COO or anything similar. Currently I'm a "technical account manager" as I'm doing a bit of sales, support, etc.

The question I have: can you suggest an appropriate job title?

It may not seem that important, but I want to see what people have to say. (I'm hoping for a better suggestion than what the company is currently proposing).

"Country Manager"?

All other things being equal, the better sounding the title the easier it will be to get an Employment Visa as well.

I'd suggest Regional Manager or Regional Business Development Manager. Country Manager has some implications which might not match your qualifications / experience.
