Single Australian female - new start in HK

Hi,
I have been plowing through the threads on moving suggestions as I am relocating from Australia to HK at the end of Sept.
I would like to live in the Midlevels or Happy Valley and would like some suggestions on what buildings are deemed better to live in. Ie good facilities, easy landlords, value for money, sizeable rooms (within reason I understand). I am not asking for the world and realise the size will be tiny and costs high.

My budget for accomm is btw $15k and $25k.

Is this reasonable?

Any tips would be welcomed...

Smile Apartment Hunting

Closer to the $20-25k mark will get you a good variety of apartments, although you will still see that there are apartments that you would like, but are out of your price range. It all depends what you have been used to and what you are expecting.

Obviously there are 1000's of apartment buildings in the areas you mentioned, so they can't be listed individually. You will, most likely, have to do a bit of legwork to see the real estate agents to see what is available and they will show you the ones you are interested in. There are some websites, that I am sure you have looked at, that will give you an idea. Some of the photos and descriptions can be a little decieving, especially for an Australian.

Asking for good facilities, easy landlords, value for money and sizeable rooms is quite possibly asking for the world - you will probably end up making some compromises. But, you won't know until you go and see the apartments.

If you mention some apartment buildings to specific areas, some people might be able to give you a better idea.

Good luck

Just a quick tip, Centaline and Midland is 2 of the biggest property agency in HK , you might check them out for prices. I am sure you will get an offer below $15k in nice areas.Good Luck
