Any luck LIVE: Home will have a few feeds, but with NBC having sole distribution rights in the US it probably will get blocked.

Anybody think Now TV is going to unveil new HDTV channels for the Olympics? I guess it's a bit late now and they haven't done anything yet, what a surprise.

The evening shows on Pearl are quite interesting for how polluted Beijing is. I'm hoping some magazines pick up on it more and name "Beijing Sky Blue" after some murky brown colour. The Chinese government are whining like 4 year olds.

Tech interest: it seems as though it uses openvpn as the technology, with username/password in combination with signed certificates. The supplied client is a Java based one, but there's no reason to think that if you can get the certificates used by the client you couldn't run your tunnel from a Linux system. Or even BSD if you're that way inclined...
Let me know how it goes, would also be interested.

Esp for Iplayer and also for 4OD, esp that I've now finally worked out how to set up a media server with my ps3.

Yep - that's what I'll primarily be using it for iPlayer and 4oD (and Kangaroo if it ever happens) . I'll report how successful (or otherwise) it turns out to be

First time poster... Very disappointed to hear that the main Olympics coverage isn't on a Western channel and keen to hear how the VPN tunnel works. It was mentioned that Pearl have the rights, pardon my ignorance but is that channel on Now?
Cheers.

Apart from the online suggestions mentioned, which of the TV channels on NOW will show the Olympics?

Apparently NBC are DoS's US TV hosts. I like that Sopcast's default example feed is currently showing the Olympics.

WestHongKong - Pearl is NOT on Now. Pearl is broadcasted the old fashioned way. Plug your TV into an antenna and tune in.

The Opening ceremonies were amazing. Anyway, you can watch all the Olympics you want on Pearl, it's in English. ATV also had the opening ceremonies, and the announcers weren't complete idiots like Pearl. If you want other networks try the following. (Works great for people who have to work during the day)

MyP2P.eu :: Free Live Sports on your PC, Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL and more...

Click on the link for live sports, and choose other. Beijing Olympics shows up as broadcasting on various channels all day everyday.

I checked for the Opening ceremonies some of the links, and was able to watch it on BBC, NBC, CCTV, CBC, and some Russian channel.

Many of the links also do no require you to download anything as long as you have Windows Media player. (Works great for an office PC that has installation priviledges blocked)

I would earn some serious brownie points if I could get hollyoaks on 4OD out here. Would love to know whether this works
