Buy Pressure cooker safety valve

Hi All,

I have moved into HK recently and have been following the posts very keenly.

Yesterday while cooking rice, my pressure cooker safety valve just blew up. The pressure cooker is used mostly by indians to boil the food quickly. Can someone help me in finding a store where I can buy a new safety valve.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Regards,
Vikram

Chances are you'd have to check in some of the Chungking stores.

Most department stores have these spares available, try Wing On in Sheung Wan, or Sogo in CausewayBay.
You might also want to check out the range of rice cookers there both electrical and for the microwave.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the answers, but the one I am having is a pressure cooker which is kept on a gas stove. I hope you are referring to that.

Regards,
Vikram

I think KK is right. Those kind of stainless steel pressure cookers are available in Wing On.. Not sure about spare parts..

vikramcr,

before you get a spare part, i must ask you to reconsider whether its really a good thing to use. a few years ago the top of my pressure cooker flew off, splattering hot daal and steam on my arm, hand, and where my 9 month old was sitting just seconds earlier, thank god he wasn't there. i know many indians feel they are essential, but my 2nd degree burns are a lifelong reminder that taking longer to cook is not the worst thing that can happen. just my two cents yaar!
