Where are the Aussies in HK?

Hallo...

This is a call out for any Aussies working here in HK?

I have been here for 2 weeks now, and want to check where Aussie's hangout?

Peace

Good question...I wonder too... :-). Technically there are lots around, though it would be fun to find out.

Scattered in bars, pubs and clubs etc everywhere.. Depends on what kind of scene you like really.

I'm not aware of any 'Aussie' hang outs per se..

If you are really keen on meeting fellow Aussies, go to functions organised by the Australian Chamber of Commerce ('Austcham') Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

They have a monthly Thursday drinks event - I think the next one is on 21 August.

So why do the Aussies have to stay over there??

We are a couple of Australians living and working in Hong Kong and are certainly not in Discovery Bay!

Would have thought bars showing Tri-Nations rugby would be the obvious place to look? Plenty of Aussies playing sports over here too; cricket, hockey, rugby to name but 3...

I always thought the Kangaroo bar (in Wan Chai at least) was an under-age drinker hang out...

And I always thought the best place to find Aussies was serving you a pint in Shepherd's Bush/Earls Court/Ealing Broadway in London

The Kangaroo bar in TST is still there so I assume that's fairly Aussie-centric

Hi,

I am from Melbourne. Born in HK but has lived in Melbourne for about 18 years. Recently returned to HK for work, I have been wanting to meet up with some expats in HK for networking and socialising. Even though I am not a big drinker, I like going to pubs and clubs, going out for dinners & movies. I also wouldn't mind explore around HK e.g. walking/biking track. I go to gym and also doing salsa classes. I have found some good salsa venues and if people are interested, feel free to drop me an email.

As a keen Geelong AFL supporter, does anyone know or plan to organise something for the AFL grand final next month? (whether Geelong is in the final or not)

Cheers, Jonno
