I'm planning to go to Shangri-la or Jiuzhai Valley later in August. Could anyone recommend a travel agency for booking plane tickets? I called China travel and they offered a ridiculously high price to fly to Kunming, about 1600 one-way including tax.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. btw, any suggestion on the must-see sights in the shangri-la area? am planning to stay for about 4 days.

Given that 3-400 of that is tax and fuel surcharge and it's 2.5 hour flight that would seem quite reasonable to me, not ridiculously high at all. Dragonair's cheapest published roundtrip fare for the flight alone is HK$2260+taxes.

But if you have someone to travel with then you can get much better flight+hotel packages from KA Holidays.

Its a good price, they only have two flights a day. You could fly to Lijang and get a bus
