Any bookworms out there? Not sure if one of these exists already but I've always wanted to do it. I love to read, drink coffee, and socialize, so I figured why not try to incorporate all three? I'd like to start a "book club". I'm into suspense novels, sci-fi, comedy....pretty much everything I guess lol. I figure this would be a good way to get to know a few people as well as get some good reading in. Let me know if anyone is interested and we'll start working out some details.

I love books - and reading! But I don't read fiction. The ESMD at YWCA only ever select fiction so I've never bothered...

So lets do this! Wow, I didn't expect so many responses so fast but thats awesome. Like I mentioned, I'll read anything. So for those non-fiction lovers out there, suggest a few books. Lets get a list of books together and we'll all choose one and get started! The only two books left on my shelf that are unread are Lost and Mirror Mirror, both by Gregory Maguire. I'm more than willing to pick up some new ones though. OOHH!! And maybe a fun idea...we could read a book that an upcoming movie is based upon then compare and contrast....or vise versa, watch the movie then read the book. Sorry, I'm over excited. SO LETS TO THIS!!!

compare book to movie LOL that's easy - they dumbed down the plot, left out the best bits, none of the characters look like you imagined, and the film didn't do justice to the book. YES???

Blade Runner (movie) was far better thank the Philip K Dick novel. LOTR, Blackhawk Down and Donnie Brasco were pretty good as movies- not actually better than the books, admittedly, but movies are short. Touching the Void (movie) was probably on par with the book.
