WII & Fit..where to buy (special requirements)

HI friends,

I have a friend in tokyo who has asked me for a wii & fit. The specific requirement is that he doesnt read japanese and wants a WII & Fit which can,

1. run US or english games
2. is NTSC compatible for Japan. i.e. can be used wth NTSC TV systems in Japan

can anyone please help me buy this in HK? which stores & areas would have good bargains?

Thanks a lot!

Yeah but USA has a different NTSC system for TVs than Japan.

You know we have NTSC and PAL (i am not that tech. knowledgeable anyways)..

so i head that the WII designed for US NTSC system (for TV) would not work with the NTSC TV system in Japan....

that is the problem....

I would be surpised... a Jap wii works on US/European PAl systems without problems so I guess would be no problem other way around.

Also the fitness game is called "Wii Fit" without the "&". Do you mean you need a console + the game & balance board? Go to the 188 shopping mall at Wanchai Road 188, shopkeepers there should be able to help you out there...and check with different stores for best pricing.

It's only a slight change in brightness, do some research.

USA = NTSC = NTSC-J = Japan.

Hong Kong = UK = PAL.

Pretty much all PAL TV's can display NTSC but not the other way around.

Bought one already in 188 Hennessy Road Computer Centre. If your friend has a US version Wii then you have to buy the US version Wii fit. Yes it comes with the game and the balance board.

Thanks. I read that website.

Sorry for asking the (stupid) question again but that webpage says that NTSC-US is not compatible with NTSC-J

can you please help me clarify

The Wii system and Wii Fit designed for NTSC -US, would it work with a TV in Japan (which has NTSC-J)?

Thanks a lot!

rs2000 - I'd be surprised if the Japanese NTSC TVs were not multi-system and able to play virtually any variation of NTSC around.

Thanks,
