He was not throwing up but we highly suspect that someone is behind this. Someone had once attacked him and he returned home limping.

Sympathies for your loss.

I suggest that if you suspect someone poisoning your dog you get a vet do an autopsy and even call the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong)). This way if leagl action needs to be taken you can say you have reliable information from credible and legitmate channels.

The reason it is so suspicious is that we found a yellow powder above his gums. Also our dog was found outside our home, his positioning is very strange- one left bent backwards as if he was placed there. We feel that someone had taken him away and then put him back there.

Sorry for your loss. Contact the police ASAP and file a report for dog poisoning. The police should take away the body to Tai Lung Veterinary Laboratory (HKSAR Government Laboratory) for post mortem & toxicology testing.

Please note that they may be busy due to the Equestrian events so the report may take a few months.

In the meantime, please place your dog's body in those black water resistance bags (double wrap it) and place into a fridge to prevent decomposition and foul smell. Placing the body into the freezer is less desirable as it will damage the tissues which affects the post mortem investigation when the Veterinary Pathlogist looks at the tissues under the microscope.

Agree, contact the police ASAP. SPCA can also help with suspected poisonings. Your vet should also know symptoms for different types of poisons (there are so many) and reporting procedures to follow if a poisoning is expected. Also, I believe you noted on a previous post that your dog was taking meds. It is worth contacting your vet just to make sure that there was no problem with the medicine. I have heard of two cases of contaminated pet tablets in HK since I moved here. I am truely sorry for your loss.

Heavy salivation, disorientation and loss of coordination are classic symptoms of poisoning. Epilepsy can be caused by toxins also. Sorry about your dog dying, but you asked for symptoms.
