Smile DVD Recorder

Hi guys,

I am planning to get a new DVD recorder. Planning to get the Pioneer DVR-LX70. I wanted to know whether there are DVD players in Hong kong with the Ir Blaster. This helps to change the channel of your decorder box based on the recording time and preferred channel, if I am not mistaken. I have heard of Ir blasters only with TV Tuner card which comes for PCs and not with DVD recorder.

Are there any units which I can buy seperately to time it to change the channel of my Now TV Decoder to record my programs? And please let me know whether Pioneer DVR-LX70 DVD recorder is good or not, so I can make up my mind! thanks guys!!!

I have a Philips DVR and it is rubbish.
Why:
1. firmware is rubbish - had the man out to reset it 3 times
2. the replay stalls, skips all the time
3. the TV is also philips but the remote contol are not compatible (ok minimally compatible)
4. HDMI has no sound at the moment - which needs a hard reset which deletes the disk
5. the program timer mode is a bit dumb

Come to mention, it the Philips LCD TV has poor picture quality - but that might just be LCD TVs..
