Anyone has comment about Kempinski Hotel at Xian. The hotel was newly opened in May 08. Would like to know how convenient this hotel is in terms of dining, taxi, night entertainment etc.

Hotel is new, just opened a month ago, I think. Rooms are ok, large and nice but only Coffee shop and deli is opened. No other facilities such as swimming pool yet. Located 30 mins from city but nearer to Terracota Warrior. Also about 30 mins to airport. More of a resort than city hotel and in front of river. Great to chill out but not good if you want to have night life. No shopping or bars, etc as it is only the hotel. Taxi available but might have problem to come back, so better have the hotel tel number ready and call the hotel to ask them to give the taxi driver direction.

Thanks for your advice. We have decided to live in Grand New World which is closer to the city. Is there any good restaurants in Xian that you will recommend?
