Fresh Milk Hi guys, I've been looking to buy some nice fresh milk instead of the UHT stuff. So I was wondering (although this question sounds a bit weird) which is the best milk to buy? Also, what do the colours in HK mean? For example in Wellcome there are red, blue and green colours. Now in the UK, red is skimmed, blue is full fat and green is semi-skimmed - but I can't find anything else on the packaging that implies the colours mean anything at all... Any suggestions gratefully received - I want a nice cup of tea to go with my breakfast

They don't mean anything except the brand. The key words to look for and avoid on the packaging are "milk drink". If the word drink is there then it has had something done or added to it which means that what you are getting is not simply pasteurised milk. Semi-skimmed is quite hard to find here. Basically nearly all the local milk is full fat (some friends who claim to have done a survey say that Trappist Dairy is the best / creamiest tasting full fat). You can also buy Master Pura milk from Australia (which generally comes in litres - the local stuff is in half pints, pints and litres) which is royal blue for full fat and light blue for non-fat.

The only think added is calcium and you'll often see milk beverage or milk drink. I drink quite a bit of milk and I don't really enjoy the taste of local milk. I either buy Farmhouse which is manufactured in Singapore, Master's in Australia or Greenfields in Indonesia but from Australian cows and it's very easy to find low fat(1,5%) in either of these brands at either ParknShop or Wellcome. They do tend to have green packaging.
