changing money

Here's a random question. I have to fly to Denmark tomorrow. Haven't been there before. Any experienced travelers know if I will be able to change HKD into Danish Kroner either at the HKG airport, Amsterdam (where I fly through) or at the Copenhagen airport? I'm just imagining that it might be easy to get euros but not krone. Any ideas? No time to get to a bank or anything today either.

There is a really cheap travel exchange place on de voux road central, can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. i'm hoping someone else on the board can.

they would be a good bet, should call in advance though to make sure they have danish currency.

at the airport will be super expensive btw.

I would suggest you change your hong kong dollars to either Euros or US Dollars at the airport. Then when you reach Denmark you will surely be able to change either of those two currencies to their local one. You will no doubt get hit on the rates, but better to be safe than sorry I say.

Best bet would be simply to extract local currency using your ATM card when you arrive. I think you can be very confident that Copenhagen will have ATMs which will accept your HK ATM card.

PDLM's idea is probably the best.

However if you go down this route, would suggest Euro over Dollar.

However you will be dealing with a double conversion hit.

Assuming you have a HK bank account, go to a branch of your bank. Otherwise, a forex place at the airport.

Oh, and of course you can use an ATM at a Thai airport.
