This 'Typhoon' looks like a simple thunderstorm where I am, is it any worse on the coastal areas?

Happy to have the day off work!

It should say in your contract when the cutoff time is. Usually it's before lunch. No kids at schools today unless it's PM session.

She will be devastated, I don't think so. She is still sound asleep at the moment.

.

it was quite rough where we are (facing the sea on PI) at 5am this morning - lots of noisey wind and rain, but nothing uprooted as far as I can see

Can someone explain whats going on? I work for a corporate and I'm not sure what number to call to find out if I'm supposed to go in.

I left to go to work and there's like no one on the streets at all.

Seancon

Check the tv and if its showing 8 on the screen which it is currently then you're supposed to stay at home and not go in.

There should be something in your employee handbook to indicate what the procedure is in respect of your employer.

Okay, thanks man.

I'm just a month in HK and I left my handbook at my desk. Went out at 8:15 and I thought it was strange that even the cabbies weren't out.

Not a problem, Check with a colleague if you can what the cut off time is, As some companies state that if it drops by a certain time then you still have to come in.

I tried to connect to the Observatory website this morning, but it seems to be off the net. Anyone else able to connect to it? Maybe just too busy to function. Ferry from DBay to Central canceled until Signal 8 is lowered.
