I will be making my first trip to Singapore (hooray), can anyone recommend hotel? Looking to pay around SGD100.00 for decent standard (hopefully). Thanks.

You'll need to have a fairly basic definition of "decent" for that sort of price (particularly if you mean including taxes etc). Hotel prices in Singapore have risen dramatically in the last few years.

Personally I quite like the Gallery Hotel but their internet promotional rates start at S$218+taxes.

For basic but decent (although some are in, by Singapore standards, less decent areas) you might just get a room in a Hotel81 for about S$100 per night. Some of them start at S$70+++ for midweek off-season.

Agree with that. Another good choice is the Hotel 1929. Rooms are a little small and location is so-so (respectable but not glamorous in one direction, not so respectable in other), but it is quite stylish and rack rates start at SGD140...

you can try wotif.com - they usually have a "mystery hotel" deal that is the best on offer. Whatever you do avoid the hotel on the beach near the airport - just off the eastcoast parkway carpark E - it is truely DIRE and ripped me off when i was last there. Can't quite remember the name.
