What's the best mortgage rate out there?

Hi all!

Just about to jump into a mortgage in HK.

Can you share w/ us the mortgage rate you recieved/were quoted? I remember reading about 1.75% about a month ago when I was in HK.. not sure what the rate is at now...

Maybe to standardize the responses..

Quote Date, interest rate, term, downpayment %, bank name.

i got Hibor 1 month + 0.5% recently, with capped of P-1.9%. In the coming 1 - 2 years, I think that this will be a better option than P- 2% or P-2.25% available in the market.

HSBC has just reduced its rate for my mortgage (taken out in August 07) to 2% (which is P-3 I think). Not sure if that is available for new mortgages.

We have the same rate- bought in June 07. We have a fixed monthly payment and the length of the mortgage has dropped considerably since the initial signing. Hopefully it will continue to prove to be a good window we chose to purchase in!

It's Hong Kong- prices will come back again. We're in it for the long term so we're just sitting back and watching our payment term get shorter and shorter.

Hibor 1 month + 0.5% = 1.5% at this time. Don't know how long this good times will last though...
