In fact, there are many rescue places in hong kong. Which rescue places did you call? SPCA? Please try some other small or private rescue places likes SAA, HKDR, RCAP and so on.

There are many puppies and most of them are mongrel, so that it is hard to find beagle puppies. However, if you are looking for "adult" beagle, I believe that you could find in those rescue places.

There are many doggies need home. Do you consider another type of dog?

In another thread hello_there mentioned the HKKC.

It wouldn't hurt to call them to get a list of registered breeders. 2523-3944

Thank you smelly for your Input, I never have Beagle before but i do have some experience with dogs (mongrels) and i've been reading lots of book and talk to as many ppl as i can about beagle.
We're home most of the months couldnt be more perfect time to have pup , like i said in the previous post we r not rushing into it and carefully making our decision.

The reason we're looking at Beagle is really becoz its lively and ideally short hair/ small which would fit nicely with our apartment and hot HK. My husband did suggest that once the dog grow up and we finished our leased here we could move somewhere where she'll be happier lets say it the first 6 months she can't leave the apartment anyway .

Why not adopt old beagle? - Its our first dog together and we decided not to have baby for the next 5-7 years yet so basicly the pup is our baby i want to totally committed to bond with the pup and train her to grow up to be good adult dog

Why not Mongrel / Cross- beagle ?
I grow up with Mongrels back home my grandma have 5 mongrels at her place in the mountain they are big and love to run everywhere .. but here we dont have that kind of luxury to be able to own so much land for the dog to run around its that you can't predict how big the pup gonna grow and how much room she'll need as much as i would love to have 5 dogs like back in the day i just can't afford to do that.

Its a big commitment and i want to do it right thank you everyone for your input

I'll try the other smaller rescue places.
anymore suggestion are welcome

- I try the HKKC and they give my number to the breeder to call me ... guess what ? its the same breeder, he was like I'm the only one who have puppy ~ hahaha

Its just no compare price whatsoever, just one guy , one breeder no more. he already drop 10K , which make me question why he want to sell his pup so badly.

Jack Russell

Would you consider getting a Jack Russell Terrier
instead of a beagle ? they are smaller but full
of energy and very loyal dogs.

I have had them all my life and so know them inside out if you wanted any advice on this particular breed.

The downsides of a JRT are they can be a bit yappy but I dont think as much as a beagle who howl !!
Others who are overbred tend to be aggressive but that is the same with any dog - mine is lovely
natured with children and dogs alike -

flubber is on a distinguished road
Hi Chocolatekisses,

I am also interested in getting a beagle puppy. I'm wondering if you have come across any leads since you started this thread in mid-June?

As for the guy you have approached and wanted to sell you one - do you think you can give me his contact details?

Generally I am VERY skeptical with breeders in HK - they tend to run puppy mills with horrible and cruel conditions for the parent dogs. In-breeding occurs all the time, and the parent dogs just breed all their lives without any human interaction/love. That's why I will NOT buy any puppies from pet shops.
(Where do puppies come from?)

So if this breeder is a genuine beagle lover, I will definitely want to screen him first before buying a puppy from him.

Do let me know. I'm a beagle-lover myself
