Any reviews of Asiana Airlines?

Hi,

I'm looking at long-haul flights to Europe on Asiana Airlines. It's a Korean airline but I've not heard much about it. Long-haul requires transfer in Seoul. Does any one have any comments about the airline's service, safety records, the transfer, general experience? Thanks in advance!

Have only flown from HK to Seoul but I found the airline to be excellent. No complains.

Yep, pretty good. Flew with them a few years back, not exactly luxury but got there in one piece, so no complaints.

Flew with them quite a few times - 4 trips, a total of about 12 flights. They're excellent really. Better than Korean Air, pretty much on a par with Cathay. World's hottest hostesses possibly (though the uniform's a bit drab compared to Korean Air).

The only problem is that lots of their flights connect in Incheon, which is a pretty desolate (if modern and organised) place. Also, check your connection time - I flew a couple of times to Europe via Seoul from HK, and the transfer at Seoul arrived around 5am or 6am, and the airport is almost dead until about 9am... basically, bring your own entertainment at least cause Incheon's pretty boring.

Their safety record is one of the best. When Korean Air started being investigated due to all the crashes, the Korean President stopped using Korean Air exclusively in the past and started flying with Asiana. As far as flying 30,000 feet in a metal tube through the sky goes, they're safe.

Flew with them to Korea - thought they were brilliant. They are part of the Frequent Flyer program of Qantas (or OneWorld can't remember")...for some reason when I see airlines part of those groups I feel more comforted..lol

As others have said though, great track record.

Incheon has the best food of any airport that I've ever used. Much of it is mindblowingly hot though.

Yeh the food's good, but it's pretty much just a long street full of shops and restaurants... though I suppose that's all any airport really is. Yeh, I was being a little unfair to call it boring, it's not much worse than any airport in the world, and it's one of the most modern ones around.
