| Staying in Tai Po Tsai: advice! I'm moving with my girlfriend to Hong Kong soon. I'll be studying at HKU and she already has a job at Cyberport. Since we won't be able to rent an apartment right away, we will be staying at a friend's place in Tai Po Tsai, right next to HKUST, for the first couple of months. It will be an extremely long commute for both of us but we don't really have a choice.
I'm very familiar with Hong Kong but I've never actually been to Tai Po Tsai. Based on what I can tell from maps and photos, it's a small, quiet village. I'm concerned about transportation and access to everyday amenities like groceries, drugstore, etc. There are several bus and minibus lines that run through the village, but how frequent is the service? Is there any overnight transit? What about supermarkets or greengrocers? 7-11? Cafés or restaurants?
I know at least a couple of people on here must be familiar with Tai Po Tsai, so I would be extremely grateful to anyone who could answer my questions! Thanks! |
