HK to Vietnam

Hello, I will be going to Vietnam soon from HK and was wondering if I will be bothered for my return flight out of HK when I come back here (to HK). I am on a tourist visa as of now and do have a return flight booked back to the US already but dont' have the ticket, it's just booked. Has anyone been bothered for this recently ? Thanks

The airline will probably give you the hardest time. Because if you are refused by immigration when returning to HK then they will have to fly you out of HK. As for HK immigration: How long have you been "visiting" HK? How many visa runs have you made already? Has immigration already flagged your passport and told you "next time go to Wan Chai if you want to extend"? What nationality is in your passport? Obviously something is up otherwise you wouldn't have asked this question.

I am US resident. I am still within my first 3 months period but it's done in early July. I have went to china twice and macau once but just for trips not to extend visa since it doesn't need extending quite yet (last Macau trip was late April). Never been flagged or said anything to, I'm just paranoid individual. What do you think ?

If you are in the 3 month period then you will be OK coming back to HK. But as I said before when you check-in the airline might be annoying and ask you some questions. Just tell them that you have a ticket back to US.

If you don't have the ticket yet, can't you just get a printout of the confirmation? Paper tickets are kind of passe these days anyway.

shouldn't be a problem, you can always say you're on the way to macau.

just don't take a day trip to shenzhen, that was the only time i was ever questioned by an immigration officer during my time as a "frequent visitor"
