restaurant recomendation

i'm getting married at the cultural centre next month and wanted to know of any reasonably priced cantonese restaurants nearby for dinner of about 20 people.

i checked out the menus of the renaissance hotel and intercontinental but they are way out of my price range.

any suggestions in the TST area? or harbour city?

cheers

Just so we can get a bit more info

Do you want the traditional wedding banquet i.e 10 plus courses etc?

And do you have a particular budget in mind as the places I can think of off the top of my head won't be cheap especially the ones in harbour city.

I can give you some places to try when I'm back at work in the morning as my restaurant guide is in my office.

YMCA, Holiday Inn, Marco Polo (perhaps not much cheaper) and dozens and dozens of local chinese restaurants outside of the five star hotels that would be happy to host something for you. Look at places in TST East too .. (5-10 mins from where you're getting married)

The Mask on top of the KCR in TST east is very good.

jimbo: not really bothered about the the traditional 10 courses. just quite casual.

i think budget wise about 6000 for about 20 of us would be the top end. but any suggestion is welcome

thanks to others that have made suggestions. i'll look into them

I have not tried this restaurant out personally, but I heard some good things about this restaurant from a few local Chinese friends. So here goes:

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐
TST, 3/F, 130 Silvercord, 30 Canton Rd.

I don't know if they do wedding banquets but you can ask by calling 2730 6928.

Hope this helps

Theres

Celestial Court at the Sheraton, Thats pretty much right on your budget though

Crystal Palace on Cameron road, well under budget

Dong at the hotel Miramar, Top end of your budget though.

Best bet would be to take a look and speak to somebody there and see what they can do for you on your budget.
