Cheapest custom made curtains?

I want to get some curtains made for the apartment, and have heard Shenzhen is very cheap for this. However, when you add the visa price and the hassle of dealing with Shenzhen, is there anywhere in Hong Kong that would be just as cheap?

We only need them for 2 large windows.

I've used Soho Curtain on Queens Rd in Wan Chai twice and was very pleased. I'd definitely use them again. Maybe not the cheapest, but I liked their selection and their willingness to come and measure first, not just take my measurements.

Thanks Sylvester, what kind of price did they charge, if you don't mind me asking?

Or you could just go to Ikea. They've got a nice selection.

We ended up using IKEA. They do made to measure and turned out to be the cheapest we found after trying quite a few shops in Wanchai.

(thanks KIA that thread was also helpful)

So do you think it's still worth going local rather than Shenzhen?

What about Spotlight, anyone used them for custom curtains? They have a 30% off on curtains now so I am going to check them out.

Shenzen is a lot cheaper. Although the RMB and PRC visa policies keeps trying to screw that up.
It is a hassle dealing with SZ, if you don't like that Lo Wu experience, but if you know where you are going and don't become sidetracked it makes things easier. Also, going at lunch/dinner hours tends to hold down the grabbing at you as people are too busy eating.
We price shopped a few places in HK maybe a year ago and SZ saved us a lot. Also a bunch of these HK curtain places (as well as the taliors) just collect your wants and have them done in SZ anyway.

Man, thank you for that tip. It's the worst thing about Lo Wu. I think I'll stick with HK for the curtains as after looking at the place we only need 2 windows, probably not worth the hassle and visa price for SZ.
