Hi all,

I have been following the threads on 'Working in HK' with great interest and have been enjoying reading about the experiences of expats in Hong Kong.

I moved to HK recently from Melbourne, Australia with my partner after he was offered a position here and am enjoying the pace that is HK. With undergrad qualifications in the exercise sciences and postgrad qualifications in the nutritional sciences, I am currently on the lookout for work in this field in HK. It appears there is a very large focus in the finances/banking sector in HK but little in the exercise/nutrition industry. What type of experiences have others had in my industry? I have been reading about the workings of the Centre for Health Promotion in HK and it appears this industry is still very new in HK.

Does anybody have any ideas/tips about trying to get work in this industry in HK? I am on a working holiday visa at the moment so will need to be working towards sponsorship in the next 12 months (or as my partner's boss helpfully suggested, 'just go down to the local chapel on the weekend and get married'!!!).

You can try contacting Pure Fitness... or walk by American Nutrition Company and ask them for advice on the market.
You could also try Impakt - Hong Kong, Boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Karate, MMA, Fitness and Gym

You're correct in your observation, that there's not a huge focus on nutrition etc in Hong Kong, but if you scout around and try and talk to people you might find an in someplace.
