I would suggest the AA but I suggest not saying 'wanna' all the time.

Realistically I suspect you wont be able to do it.

What you WANNA do and what you CAN do in HK are two different things. You need somewhere to garage it, plus all parts have to be imported which is a proper PITA. Then there are the emission and roadworthly laws that are required (if you want to actually drive the thing). Shops here are not used to chopping/cutting/shutting cars, so the work would be a little suspect if you were outsoucing.

As Lammarite said, HKAA would be a good first point of contact. Or even the HK Classic Car Club - they can point you in the right direction.

What is your budget for this?

A great source of pre/post WW2 classic cars in various levels of condition / grade can be found in NZ.

One of the critical things that the HK transport department wont budge on, is that whatever car you choose to import MUST have the original engine that matches the manufacturers original build sheet and VIN plate. A car that does not have a matching engine number as it left the factory, is deemed un registrable in HK.

I doubt a Rat Rod is going to have its original side valve motor intact, with another motor substituted in its place, which wouldn't be possible to get approval for import.

A great source of classic cars is New Zealand, TradeMe - New Zealand Online Auctions and Classifieds

Info regarding importing a car can be located here Hongkong Automobile Association

Good luck.

hey skyhook and crocodile.
yea mate i browes trade me alot im from nz.
i find it a wee bit pricey, usa has heaps plus at good prices, things like that are rare and considerd gold over there mate in nz.

i picked this up yesterday online from a farmer of rusty bodys in the US. its a 1929 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan.

hes going to take it apart as much as possible for me and im going to put it in a container,(decorations)
a place to build it, is not a problem i have a space for it.
engine i have already, i obtained it in macau from a mate over there.a big block 409 from a 1963 Chevrolet Impala.
body im going to use a japanese chassie, i know its wrong but its way easer than welding up an old one,
i dont realy mind if it cant be ridden around,im goint to build it anyway and see what comes of it at the end, just the satisfaction of building it, itll probly stop me from jumping off my office building on a monday morning im so bored.and the odd late night mission to row up the Neighborhood in my area,im sure they will love the sound off a V8 with short pipes at 3am.
